Yesterday, August 22, the largest game event in Europe, Gamescom 2017 started in Cologne. This year's exhibition was special already from the opening ceremony - German Chancellor Angela Merkel delivered a speech there. The exhibition content also didn’t disappoint - a lot of interesting innovations were presented on the first day.
One of them was Ubisoft company presenting a new Assassin's Creed: Origins trailer, which had real historical characters in the game, such as Ptolemy XIII, Julius Caesar and Cleopatra. The last two also appeared in the cinematic game trailer, which Ubisoft presented before the exhibition opening.
Besides Assassin's Creed, Far Cry 5 also received updates - Gamescom showed a new expanded gameplay, which, in addition to the usual shooting, air battles and transport travel, included a very fascinating fishing process.
This year, Microsoft brought announcements of the new PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds game for Xbox One and the continuation of the famous Age of Empires IV series to the exhibition. In addition, release of the Definitive Edition Age of Empires II and Age of Empires III were announced.
Square Enix made the fans happy with the long-expected exact release date of the Final Fantasy XV computer version. The wait is not that long - the Windows operating system version will be out in early 2018.
Battlefield 1 fans can also be happy, the game will be expanded by a new mode called "Invasion". Another announcement was the release of Battlefield 1: Revolution, in which to the already familiar Battlefield 1 a Season Pass with four DLCs was added - altogether it will cost $ 60.
With the updates also came Wargaming, now, Xbox One X owners will be able to join the army of World of Tanks fans. The game version for the new platform is in 4K resolution, it has more realistic graphics and the ability to create tournaments in the Xbox Arena Tournament system. The game will be on sale on November 7th.
Among the new games, the greatest audience interest was caused by Immortal: Unchained. Developers market it as a science fiction version of Dark Souls – same puzzles, battles and system of deaths and rebirths. All in all, Immortal: Unchained - is a fairly promising shooter, which offers the player to travel the Stream, a universe consisting of various parallel worlds, and of course, find adventures in each one of them. There is no exact release date yet. We only know that 2018 is in developers’ plans. What we don’t yet know is the list platforms that will support the game, the only officially confirmed one is PS4.
