“Iron throne” for gamers and gameplay of Metro: Exodus – weekly news digest

18 January 2019 “Iron throne” for gamers and gameplay of Metro: Exodus – weekly news digest

How does the summer gameplay of Metro: Exodus look like? Which secret have players of Fallout 76 found? What did Acer unveil for gamers at the end of the CES 2019? Read about these and other news from the world of gaming in our digest.

EA stopped developing the game after Star Wars

Referring to anonymous resources, the news editor at Kotaku gaming blog Jason Schreier said that Electronic Arts refused from the production of another game after the Star Wars universe called Orca.

The game had to plunge players into the open world. Players were supposed to be able to choose the side, i.e. to become a space pirate or a hunter for pirates.

However, the development of Orca was called off due to the decision to release another game after the Star Wars universe ahead of time. The game will be less large-scale and will appear approximately in late 2020, when new generation consoles are expected to be launched.

Gameplay of Metro: Exodus

Western journalists hurried to post videos of Metro: Exodus’ gameplay after the ban for their publication was over at the press event in London.

Journalists were given a possibility to play a part of the game, where the action takes place in a desert in summer. This is one of the first demonstrations of how the world of Metro looks like when the weather is warm. Players will have to kill desert mutants that hide in ruins. The game offers scripted fighting scenes that enhance the immersion effect.

Game tests have shown that the weather is changeable in the desert. A sandstorm can unexpectedly start for the player.

However, the game has some deficiencies, for example, after you kill a mutant, its corpse can swing like in the wind, and the hole made by scissors in its head disappears.

The developer room location found in Fallout 76

Curios players of Fallout 76 have been looking for the developer room for a long time and have found it at last! And they were banned straightaway.

Players found paint for armor in the room. This item is not available in the game now, meaning that developers plan to add it in the future. But the biggest surprise was the non-player character (NPC) called Wooby. The finding is interesting because all characters you meet in the game can be nobody but real players. Some people think that Bethesda plans to add non-player characters to the game world.

Everyone who accessed the dev room were banned, as this action contradicts game rules. However, players have a possibility to return to the game. Bethesda sends emails to players with a request to explain how they managed to access the dev room. There are chances that the company will restore the accounts afterwards.

“Iron throne” for gamers

At the end of the CES 2019, Acer presented a real throne for gamers: a pedestal with a chair, a system block, monitors, lighting, and racks.

The novelty is called Predator Thronos Gaming Chair. The frame of the throne is made of steel with the height of 1.5 meters. A gaming chair, a rack for keyboard, armpads with USB ports are mounted on top. The frame also sustains three 27-inch monitors. And the arc above the gamer’s head contains LED lights. A system block (players can choose from Predator 9000, 5000, or 3000) is placed behind the user.

For now, the price of the throne is unavailable.
