The eighth annual Dota 2 tournament organized by Valve will take place in Vancouver (Canada) on August 20. According to the results of group qualifiers, 16 teams will fight for the title of the winner.

The double-elimination play off will involve 16 national teams with the highest DPC points. The best eight teams according to the results of the group stage will start the competition in the Upper Bracket, the rest of teams – in the Lower Bracket. The first lower bracket game is best of one, others are played best of three. The final stage is best of five.

Two Russian teams will participate in the play-off. Virtus.pro plays in the Upper Bracket. This Russian eSports project has been competing in Dota 2 tournaments since 2012. The team took a number of the first places at the European and CIS events. The composition of the team has changed for many times and currently includes such eSports players as Solo, ArtStyle, No[o]ne, 9pasha, and Rodjer (representatives of Russia and Ukraine).

Winstrike Team, set up in 2018, will compete for the title of the best team in the Lower Bracket. Previously, these eSports players played for FlyToMoon. The team quickly achieved good results, for instance, took the third place in the EPICENTER XL Major. Players represent Russia and Ukraine: Silent, Iceberg, Nongrata, NoFear, and ALWAYSWANNAFLY.

The International is the largest Dota 2 tournament that features the best teams from different countries of the world. The competition takes place in Vancouver from August 15 to August 26, the prize fund is currently $24 million. You can watch the competition online!
