Wojciech Pazdur to speak about the creation of Get Even at WEGAME 3.0 lectures24 March 2017
On April 9, Wojciech Pazdur, creative director of The Farm 51, a Polish video game development company, will present at WEGAME 3.0 as part of open lectures.
Topic of his lecture: “Adventures of Cole Black: how we tried to Get Even”.
“The lecture is intended for those interested in improving of storytelling in video games, especially in the sphere of interactive narration. I would like to tell about advances and challenges we faced while creating nonstandard tools used for storytelling in Get Even,” noted Wojciech Pazdur.
The goal of Get Even project was to create a unique story, impossible to tell in any other form except for a video game. In three years of work, developers encountered many new tasks and obstacles, including repeated changes in scenario. Speaker will tell about lessons learned by the team, evolution of the project in the process of its creation, creative tools used for storytelling, and other interesting technical aspects.
Wojciech Pazdur has been working in the gaming industry for over 18 years. He dedicated the largest part of this time to the creation of photorealistic 3D materials. Took part in the development of The Witcher 1.
Currently, speaker runs the Get Even project, and researches technologies of 3D graphics and interactive storytelling. Occupies the position of a director of the development team of The Farm 51, a Poland-based studio. Company’s projects include the following games:
- Painkiller Hell & Damnation;
- Deadfall Adventures.
Studio’s pioneering project was Chernobyl VR – interactive educational application that allows making a virtual journey in Chernobyl.
