Oculus Rift pre-orders are open

15 January 2016 Oculus Rift pre-orders are open

Owned by social network manufacturer of renowned virtual reality headset Oculus VR has opened pre-orders of Oculus Rift.

Starting from 6 January 2016 anyone can pre-order this virtual reality headset. Oculus Rift will go with a simple VR game Lucky’s Tale developed by Playful.

Virtual reality fans will have to pay $599, though a year and a half ago Oculus VR representatives promised that the price of consumer-oriented version of the headset wouldn’t exceed $300. The first lot of devices was sold out within 14 minutes after pre-orders opened.

Besides that, users will have to make sure their computer can support Oculus headset. This device requires a graphics card not worse than NVIDIA GTX 970, 8GB ram memory and compatible HDMI 1.3 video output. In order to connect the headset you will need three USB 3.0 ports and one USB 2.0 port.

As a gift for pre-ordering Oculus VR will provide each user with access to virtual reality space simulator EVE: Valkyrie. As the name suggests, events of the game will take place in the universe of popular MMO game EVE Online.
