PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds records

06 September 2017 PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds records

Online shooter PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds beats Dota 2 records for the maximum number of players, having already sold 10mn copies in five and a half months. Given the fact that PUBG is still in its beta testing, we can call it the most popular online game today.

10 million PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds copies were bought since March 2017, with a third being sold over the last two weeks of summer.

On August 27, the survival simulator outdid Dota 2 by the number of simultaneously playing users, 877,844 vs. 842,919. If this number continues to grow, PUBG will soon outscore the Defense of the Ancients 2 with a 1.3 million mark.

With such a demand, Nvidia released drivers specifically for PUBG and launched a competition. In August 2017, the company’s video cards owners that installed the software were able to record highlights from the game and share them on social media. If you post the video on YouTube and Twitter, adding @PUBATTLEGROUNDS, @NVIDIAGeForce and #ShadowPlayHighlights in your post, you automatically participate. The prize fund is three GeForce GTX 1080 video cards and fifty GeForce GTX USB compact adapters. You can find the rules and list of participating countries on the website.
