Why did Blizzard disqualify a professional player from the Hearthstone tournament? Will Fallout 76 become a free game? What will the fifth PlayStation be like? These and other issues are described in our weekly news digest.
Leakage of fifth PlayStation specifications
Mass media obtained new information about technical features of Sony’s PlayStation 5. It was posted on Twitter by a user nicknamed TUM_APISAK who revealed earlier characteristics of new non-released equipment.
He said that the new console would include AMD’s chip called Gonzalo. It consists of eight 7nm hardware cores with a frequency of 1 to 3.2 GHz (in various modes). The chip is more powerful than modern PS4 AMD Jaguar processors adapted to the 4К resolution. Along with the recent news about Sony’s launch of 8К TV sets, it causes certain suggestions.
Gonzalo chip will be more efficient than Jaguar due to the upgraded technological process. It is expected that PlayStation V will hit the market in 2020. According to the more optimistic scenario, it can happen at the end of 2019.
Will Fallout 76 be a free game?
Bethesda, a company developing Fallout 76, commented the appeal to Twitter by xGTExDopey user who asserted that the game would shift to the Free-to-Play model.
The user tweeted that he wanted Bethesda to return his money because of Fallout 76 becoming free of charge. Besides, he stressed that the company could not get away with in-game currency this time, as it would be a slap in the face for him.
Bethesda answered that there was no truth to such a rumor. Retail chains will keep selling Fallout 76.
The rumor of game shifting to the Free-to-Play option was caused by a huge amount of gaming problems: poor optimization, a handful of content, and in-game item prices.
