31 March 2021Fenindom Cosplay Agency Creator Maria Karpenko Will Be Judging the Participants of WEGAME 6.0 Cosplay Show

It's time to introduce the third judge of WEGAME 6.0 cosplay show! It will be the founder of Fenindom Cosplay Agency Maria Karpenko. Ready to learn how you can turn your hobby into a profession?

The introduction is presented in the already beloved format of the superhero questionnaire. If you are wondering what the path to cosplay was like for Maria, check out the material!

  • Name / Nickname: Fenix Fatalist
  • Superpower: organize order out of chaos.
  • Weakness: distractibility (otherwise why should she be organized?).
  • Favorite color: purple.
  • Favorite hero: Dilyuk from Genshin Impact (hot-tempered but keeps himself in control), Ryuko Matoi from Kill la Kill (stubborn and honest), and Arturia Pendragon from the Fate Universe (responsible leader).
  • First experience of cosplay.

Many years ago, a friend asked Maria to cosplay Lelouch from the anime Code Geass. She claims that the result let her down, but she liked trying on the images so much that she decided to find something more suitable for herself.

  • Mission and idea behind Fenindom Cosplay Agency.

Creating Fenindom Cosplay Agency and FD Cosplay Studio, she did not plan any deep idea. She didn't even think about how cool it would be to implement such a project. She just started getting requests to find cosplayers for events, then to advertise and organize shows. This is how the idea of the agency was born. It was created to make it easier for people to understand the vision and the list of services.

The situation with the studio was similar. Maria was simply asked about making costumes, but since she herself does not really like working with her hands, she decided to cooperate with other masters. She wanted to create cool products for cosplayers from all over the world and is now very proud of her specialty in management and advertising.

When creating her own project, she proceeded from the demand and what people wanted to get. She believes that the division of responsibilities in the team allowed it to develop to its current level.

  • Advice for those who want to turn cosplay from a hobby into a profession.

First of all, there should always be a desire to try. Give yourself a period during which you can develop your creativity as a conditional business project.

“Freelancing is not the easiest road. It takes time to grow your audience. Anyone who is serious should think in advance how much time you will be ready to devote to cosplay as a profession, provided there is no response from the audience.

It's always important to consider how your creativity will be monetized. Technically, you start your own business, and any business should always have a product. What will it be? What can you offer? What can be useful to people around you? Who will be your target audience? Will it be a donation, or selling of advertising, or educational materials, or costume making services, or maybe all together?

And give yourself a try. Entrepreneurs always set the payback period for the business. Give yourself the right to invest in your business, spend as much as you are willing to lose, and see what kind of response it gets from the audience.”

Also, Maria offers the most reliable option to everyone who wants to try – come work for them in the agency.

  • What she will be focusing on as a judge of the cosplay show.

First of all, she always evaluates the artist's resourcefulness and the integrity of the image. If you have built a new mechanism into the costume, came up with an unusual design or created a unique production that no spectator will forget, Maria will definitely highlight this.

She will pay attention to how balanced the image is. The suit should be combined with a good performance. After all, it looks much cooler than an impressive outfit and a boring presentation, or vice versa.

  • Expectations from the festival.

Just hopes it will happen. Very bored without events!

Maybe you are the next cosplay show winner? No need to guess. Apply for participation and impress everyone with your transformation!
