07 February 2019 Serhii Sparda, Judge of WEGAME 5.0: it is performance rather than costume that makes cosplay the art

Serhii Sparda from FD Cosplay Studio will be one of the judges at the WEGAME 5.0 cosplay contest.

Serhii Sparda has been engaged in cosplays since 2008. During this period, he has managed to embody a lot of images: from Sailor Moon to Newton Scamander from Fantastic Beasts. Besides, is a co-founder and financial director at FeninDom (FD Cosplay Studio).

As a cosplayer, he participated in specialized events in Europe, the USA, and the CIS countries. This year, Serhii Sparda will determine the best of the best at the WEGAME 5.0 cosplay show, focusing on the art of participants’ transformation.

“What plays a valuable role for me is the impersonation and awareness of characters,” Serhii Sparda shares his assessment criteria, “Good cosplayers who doesn’t even have the best costume but perfectly know the character and fandom are able to involve people in their cosplay similar to a performance. They can show features causing the response and feedback. And this is the concept of cosplay as a kind of art.”

Show your skills and experience! This year, cosplayers will have a total freedom of creativity and a possibility to present their costumes of original characters.

The anniversary WEGAME will take place on April 20-21 in the capital of Ukraine.
